The role will concentrate on a multi-tiered program that seeks a proactive Test Engineer with proven experience, ideally with a background in systems engineering. You will be responsible for the successful delivery of projects and programs through a testing-centric approach for the end client. The ideal candidate will possess strategic thinking abilities while maintaining the motivation to engage in hands-on testing activities as necessary.
This newly created position will focus on establishing innovative working methods within both a well-established ICT engineering team and a newly formed development team utilizing various delivery methodologies, providing an excellent opportunity to shape the Testing and Transition processes for system and service delivery.
You will identify areas that do not meet established quality standards and policies, offering corrective action plans, and assisting testers in troubleshooting errors while optimizing testing procedures.
Responsibilities include leading or assisting in the creation of documentation such as instruction manuals, procedure guides, specification reports, operational manuals, technical reports, and maintenance documents based on your comprehensive understanding of the system acquired through thorough testing.
- Ensure that all change projects and programs develop suitable test and transition management plans in collaboration with relevant business units, delivery managers, and both internal and external stakeholders to address identified impacts for all change initiatives.
- Mentor and coach stakeholders involved in test and transition practices, ensuring business readiness for change while identifying associated risks and issues.
- Collaborate with teams to agree on testing methodologies, tools, and mitigation strategies identified during various testing events.
- Provide assurance, coaching, and mentoring to cultivate a skilled workforce capable of effective testing and transition activities.
- Engage in end-to-end program activities from requirements gathering to hands-on testing.
The ideal candidate must exhibit experience in a test management role, showcasing extensive knowledge of test automation, test architecture, and test strategy, as they will oversee the overall strategy and transformation of the testing program. A solid understanding of test methodologies and planning experience in test delivery is essential.
- Candidates must be sole UK Nationals with current DV clearance.
- Relevant experience in a systems testing or engineering role is required.
- Significant experience with Test Automation is necessary.
- Proven experience in Program Testing Management is essential.
- Strategic and technical leadership skills to support testing delivery are required.
- Ability to analyze and define effective test strategies is crucial.
- Familiarity with Waterfall and Agile methodologies is expected.
A background in the defense sector is preferred.
