Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Health Economist to join our team at Consult. As a key member of our Health Economics department, you will play a critical role in demonstrating and communicating the value of our allocated product portfolio to national payers, thereby removing barriers to market access.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, review, and refine UK/Ireland National Market Access Plans for products in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Recommend the optimal HTA strategy and lead all aspects of the HTA process for allocated products in UK/Ireland, a business-critical process for achieving market access.
  • Take a prominent role in cross-functional Franchise teams and be a recognized authority, ensuring that Market Access is integral to brand strategy and tactics.
  • Produce and disseminate high-quality materials that communicate the value of products to national payers.
  • Ensure compliance with ABPI and IPHA codes of practice and SOPs.
  • Deliver horizon scanning information on pipeline products, ensuring Market Access input during early-stage product development and assessment.
  • Develop in-depth technical knowledge of HE modeling and value communication & implementation using various channels.
  • Provide leading input to and adaptation of Corporate HEOR materials, ensuring they are fit-for-purpose and relevant to the UK/Ireland setting and the ABPI code of practice.
  • Commission and manage large projects with third-party vendors and internal and external stakeholders.
  • Foster the in-house development and training of other health economists.

Requirements

  • Hold an MSc in Health Economics or an equivalent discipline.
  • Be able to work at a strategic level within cross-functional teams.
  • Have a good working knowledge and practical experience of:

  • All methods of economic evaluation.
  • The requirements and processes of HTA bodies, including NICE and the SMC.
  • UK and Ireland market access barriers.
  • Development of payer materials that can support market access.
  • Training cross-functional teams (informal).
