Support Assistant for Children and Young People

Job Role Overview
The Pupil Support Assistant will work as part of a team supporting children and young people with additional support needs to access learning under the direction of other members of the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children and young people with social, emotional, learning, communication, physical, and personal care needs.
- Work with positive behaviour management programmes and individual support plans.
- Engage with children and young people to promote their development and wellbeing.
- Maintain confidentiality in relation to children, young people, and their families.
- Travel between settings as required.
Requirements
- A genuine interest in the development of children and their wellbeing.
- Kindness, empathy, and patience.
- Ability to engage with children and young people.
- Confidentiality in relation to children, young people, and their families.
- Experience supporting children and young people with additional support needs in an Early Years Setting or within Early Level within a Primary School.
Qualifications and Training
The successful candidate will be required to achieve the required qualification within the timescales set by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
