Falkirk Council is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teacher of Deaf Children and Young People to join our team at Windsor Park School and Sensory Service.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement effective educational programs for deaf learners, utilizing a Total Communication approach.
- Collaborate with colleagues to provide targeted support and ensure seamless transitions between primary and secondary stages.
- Work closely with parents and other stakeholders to promote inclusive learning and support the needs of deaf learners.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of school improvement strategies, informed by current educational thinking and research in Deaf Education.
- Participate in professional learning opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge, and share expertise with colleagues.
- Hold an appropriate teaching qualification and be fully registered with the General Teaching Council, Scotland (GTCS).
- Be a fully qualified Teacher of Deaf Children and Young People or have significant experience in supporting deaf learners.
- Demonstrate commitment, knowledge, and skills outlined in the Standard for Full Registration.
- Have knowledge and understanding of the specific competencies for teachers of deaf learners.
- Be skilled in British Sign Language.
