The Pupil Support Assistant will work as part of a team supporting children and young people with additional support needs to access learning under the direction of other team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Support children and young people with social, emotional, learning, communication, physical, and personal care needs.
- Assist in implementing positive behaviour management programmes and individual support plans.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to provide a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with children, young people, and their families.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of individual support plans.
Requirements
- A genuine interest in the development and wellbeing of children and young people.
- Kindness, empathy, and patience when interacting with children and young people.
- Ability to engage with children and young people and build positive relationships.
- Confidentiality when dealing with sensitive information about children, young people, and their families.
- Experience supporting children and young people with additional support needs in an educational setting.
