Position: Senior Risk Management Officer

Contract Type: Fixed-term contract

Key Responsibilities:

As a Senior Risk Management Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • Implementing and overseeing the standards for essential components of the normative documentation, including the Risk Appetite Framework (RAF), Risk Appetite Statement (RAS), and Risk Management Framework (RMF) for SGLB and SGIL.
  • Coordinating the annual update process to ensure consistency with Group normative documentation and alignment with regulatory expectations.
  • Preparing clear, accurate, and efficient documentation along with related summaries.
  • Establishing and monitoring adherence to the RAF, RAS, and RMF.
  • Enhancing the risk identification and assessment framework while conducting periodic campaigns for risk identification and assessment.
  • Reviewing and challenging key ESG risk factors and capital management aspects.
  • Staying informed about business, regulatory, and market developments to provide support and thought leadership in risk management.
  • Preparing impact and action summaries related to relevant regulatory developments.
  • Creating documentation and presentations for governance forums.
  • Participating in and/or leading projects as necessary.
  • Supporting the establishment of a robust risk culture and sound governance.
  • Contributing to the SGIL Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP).

Required Competencies:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • An advanced understanding of enterprise risk management within a banking context.
  • Extensive experience in developing Risk Management Frameworks, Risk Appetite, risk identification and assessment, capital management, and ICAAP deliverables.
  • Solid knowledge and experience in identifying, assessing, and managing ESG risk factors.
  • Experience in evaluating internal and external risk trends and regulatory developments, along with the ability to articulate their impact on key deliverables.
  • Strong teamwork skills with excellent emotional intelligence, promoting information sharing and collaboration.
  • A strong risk culture and professional conduct, demonstrating risk awareness and compliance with internal policies.
  • Exceptional coordination and project management skills with impactful leadership.
  • The ability to build effective relationships across all levels of seniority to engage and influence key stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in delivering compelling, well-structured presentations.
  • Strong writing skills, particularly for governance and normative documentation, as well as regulatory publication summaries and impact analyses.
  • A meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and a proven ability to innovate.
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English.
  • A passion for new challenges and a commitment to continuous learning in a dynamic environment.

Additional Competencies:

Beneficial skills include:

  • Strong quantitative knowledge related to financial statements, performance analysis, and ICAAP.
  • Expertise in stress testing and reverse stress testing.

Context:

This role reports to the Head of Enterprise Risk Management in the UK. The scope of the ERM function encompasses:

  • Defining and implementing risk management processes such as Risk Identification, Risk Appetite, and the development of the Risk Management Framework.
  • Coordinating and contributing to key aspects of the Internal Capital Adequacy Assessment Process (ICAAP).
  • Providing periodic assessments of the risk profile and governance for SGLB and SGIL.
  • Coordinating regulatory monitoring and assisting with the implementation of new regulations as necessary.
  • Engaging in Group-level initiatives and collaborating with other wholesale locations.
