Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Haematology Nurse Specialist to join our team at United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional clinical leadership and expertise in all aspects of haematological cancer nursing.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess patients, plan, implement, and evaluate care, offering specialist advice and support to patients with haematological malignancies from pre-diagnosis to treatment, palliative, and terminal stages.
  • Act as a source of expertise and knowledge to healthcare professionals, providing specialist education and training to other staff and students.
  • Lead and introduce change, influencing patient care through indirect roles, and undertaking research, audits, and service development within haematology.
  • Maintain client records, data entry, and data processing, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Provide cross-cover for colleagues during periods of absence, demonstrating a person-centred approach to care and self-awareness of stressors and robust coping strategies.
Requirements
  • Essential qualifications: ORGN, ENB 237 or equivalent, ENB 998 or equivalent, working towards or completed degree, and evidence of continued professional development.
  • Desirable qualifications: ENB N23, ENB 285/931.
  • Previous experience: minimum 5 years post-registration experience and 3 years in haematology, with extensive knowledge and experience relating to all aspects of haemato-oncology.
  • Desirable experience: previous experience working as a clinical nurse specialist, able to demonstrate 'evidence' of working within the MDT, and experience of audit/research.
  • Essential skills: good communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work on own initiative and within a team, sound management and leadership skills, ability to lead and introduce change, awareness and knowledge of the dignity in care agenda, and ability to evidence/demonstrate key values and behaviours in line with the Trust framework.
  • Desirable skills: IT skills, research and audit skills.
