Payroll Assistant

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Assistant to join our team at Payroll Elite Ltd. As a key member of our payroll team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our payroll transformation project.
About the Role:
You will be responsible for inputting a high volume of new starters onto our payroll system, processing payments on production payrolls, and processing a high volume of P45s among other tasks. Previous knowledge of dealing with HMRC, auto-enrolment, and PAYE payrolls is an advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Processing: Set up all new starters onto the computer payroll system IRIS (EARNIE IQ), process all P45/Starter Checklist forms, and send Payslips, P60s, and P45s for the company.
- Payroll Queries: Answer payroll and auto-enrolment queries, change tax and student loans accurately, and liaise with staff on all PAYE and SCHD matters.
- Payroll Run: Complete the payroll run monthly for production staff - 4 payrolls.
- Admin Tasks: Create journals and upload to PMI account system, administer the auto-enrolment function, and perform general admin duties.
Requirements:
- 2 years recent end-to-end payroll processing experience is essential.
- Excellent Microsoft skills, particularly Excel with spreadsheets and formulas.
- Able to use Microsoft Outlook.
- Good telephone manner and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Able to work under pressure with accuracy and focus.
- Good attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
- IRIS (EARNIE IQ) payroll knowledge would be an advantage.
- Able to work both independently and within a team.
- Proactive.
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality.
