Leaving Care Solutions (LCS) is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Residential Childcare Support Workers to join our team on a casual basis. This role offers the flexibility to work the hours you can commit to, without any contractual obligations.

Our mission is to make a positive and lasting difference in the lives of young people who have been in care and are transitioning towards independence. We provide them with accommodation, support their journey towards independent living, and help them achieve their educational goals.

As a Residential Childcare Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing a responsive, personalized, and high-quality service to young people residing in individual flats or shared houses.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Work diligently in accordance with person-centered risk assessments, support plans, and maintain clear communication with colleagues through comprehensive handovers.
  • Be attentive to any changes in behavior, document observations appropriately, and promptly report any shifts in the support needs of the young people you work with.
  • Cultivate positive relationships with young people, staff members, and professionals by communicating effectively at all times. Actively seek opportunities to collaborate with the team and enhance the overall experience for young people within our service.
  • Ensure continuous support is provided to young people, adhering to the standards of day staff, with a particular emphasis on the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals.
  • Carry out necessary health and safety procedures, including any cleaning tasks required, while strictly adhering to established policies and protocols.
  • Collaborate with external agencies such as the police or Emergency Duty Team (EDT) when needed.
  • Provide support to young people who require assistance attending hospital appointments or interacting with law enforcement.
Essential Requirements:
  • Proven experience in supporting young people who may be vulnerable.
  • Flexibility in your availability, as this role will include weekend work.
  • Possession of a Residential Childcare/Families Practitioner Diploma, Children and Young People's Workforce qualification, NVQ Level in Health & Social Care, or a willingness to pursue such qualifications.
  • A full driving license and access to a vehicle are essential due to the nature of the role.
  • Excellent computer skills.
