About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our team at Delta Hotels by Marriott. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for the overall success of our daily kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exhibit culinary expertise by personally performing tasks while leading the staff and managing all food-related functions.
  • Work to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget.
  • Supervise all kitchen areas to ensure a consistent, high-quality product is produced.
  • Guide and develop staff, including direct reports, to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
  • Ensure sanitation and food standards are achieved, and culinary responsibilities are met.
  • Estimate daily production needs on a weekly basis and communicate production needs to kitchen personnel daily.
  • Assist the Executive Chef with all kitchen operations and preparation.
  • Prepare and cook foods of all types, either on a regular basis or for special guests or functions.
  • Develop, design, or create new applications, ideas, relationships, systems, or products, including artistic contributions.
  • Maintain purchasing, receiving, and food storage standards.
  • Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards.
  • Recognize superior quality products, presentations, and flavor.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Follow proper handling and right temperature of all food products.
  • Operate and maintain all department equipment and report malfunctions.
  • Check the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.
Requirements
  • Minimum 4 years of experience within the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Sous Chef or a similar role in a similar establishment.
