We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Marriott International. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for the overall success of our daily kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the overall success of the daily kitchen operations, ensuring a consistent, high-quality product is produced.
  • Exhibits culinary talents by personally performing tasks while leading the staff and managing all food-related functions.
  • Works to continually improve guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget.
  • Supervises all kitchen areas to ensure a seamless and efficient food preparation process.
  • Responsible for guiding and developing staff, including direct reports, to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
  • Maintains high standards of sanitation and food safety, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Estimates daily production needs on a weekly basis and communicates production needs to kitchen personnel daily.
  • Assists the Executive Chef with all kitchen operations and preparation, including menu planning and inventory management.
  • Prepares and cooks foods of all types, either on a regular basis or for special guests or functions.
  • Develops and implements new menu ideas and culinary concepts to enhance the guest experience.
  • Maintains purchasing, receiving, and food storage standards, ensuring that all food products are handled and stored properly.
  • Ensures compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including food handling and sanitation standards.
  • Recognizes and rewards superior quality products, presentations, and flavors.
  • Operates and maintains all department equipment, reporting any malfunctions or issues.
  • Checks the quality of raw and cooked food products to ensure that standards are met.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of experience within the culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Sous Chef or a similar role in a similar establishment.
