Job Title: Lead Pharmacy Technician Procurement Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Lead Pharmacy Technician Procurement Specialist to join our team at Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for leading the procurement of medicines and supplies, ensuring efficient and cost-effective services for our patients.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in pharmacy procurement, with experience in managing pharmacy technicians and support staff. You will be responsible for leading the procurement team, ensuring compliance with NHS procurement policies and procedures, and developing and implementing strategies to improve procurement services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the procurement team to ensure efficient and cost-effective procurement of medicines and supplies
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve procurement services, including the development of key performance indicators
  • Manage the procurement budget, ensuring compliance with NHS procurement policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with pharmacy staff, other healthcare professionals, and external agencies to ensure effective communication and coordination
  • Attend and participate in regional pharmacy procurement meetings and adjudication meetings
Person Specification
  • Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council
  • Experience in managing pharmacy technicians and support staff
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical technical procedures for specialist areas
  • Ability to work as part of a team, with strong communication and leadership skills
