Job Title: Lead Pharmacy Technician Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Pharmacy Technician Procurement Specialist to join our team at Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for leading the procurement and dispensary services, ensuring the safe and effective supply of medicines to our patients.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have a strong background in pharmacy procurement and dispensary management, with experience in leading teams and managing budgets. You will be responsible for developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing relationships with pharmaceutical wholesalers and manufacturers, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the procurement and dispensary services, ensuring the safe and effective supply of medicines to patients.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective and efficient supply of medicines.
  • Manage relationships with pharmaceutical wholesalers and manufacturers to ensure timely and cost-effective supply of medicines.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including the Royal Pharmaceutical Society for hospital pharmacy standards.
  • Lead and manage a team of pharmacy technicians and support staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the effective delivery of services.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the safe and effective supply of medicines.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the effective delivery of pharmacy services.
Requirements
  • Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Experience in pharmacy procurement and dispensary management, including leading teams and managing budgets.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical technical procedures and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
