Position Overview

Your Role:

As a Lead Procurement Specialist, you will be an integral part of a dynamic Supply Chain team, offering you the chance to enhance and advance your professional journey. Your primary focus will be on mechanical components, overseeing the commercial, technical, strategic, and quality dimensions of supplier selection, introduction of new parts, qualification of supplier production processes, cost negotiations, and management of supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop commodity strategies that align with technology roadmaps while meeting cost and schedule objectives, leveraging industry insights to influence Design Engineers and Product Managers. Identify, assess, and authorize new suppliers to fulfill current and future project and business needs. Oversee the integration of new parts into the supply chain, ensuring adherence to cost, quality, and project timelines. Conduct cost negotiations, manage supplier-related project timelines, and ensure suppliers implement validated production processes. Facilitate early supplier involvement initiatives, including Design for cost and quality, utilizing expertise to guide new design directions. Lead supplier resourcing projects with effective project management skills. Drive value engineering and quality enhancement initiatives. Cultivate supplier relationships and foster supplier development. Enforce, maintain, and oversee contractual agreements and statements of work to safeguard the interests of Raymarine. Supervise supplier implementation of engineering modifications for assigned commodities and products. Accountable for all aspects of supplier quality, including: Supplier quality performance measurement and reporting to senior management, swift resolution of quality issues, and proactive quality improvement initiatives within the supply chain. Utilize commodity knowledge and production expertise to minimize costs, reduce cycle times, and enhance efficiencies throughout the supply chain. Serve as the center of excellence for all quality, engineering, and commercial facets of supplier management for assigned commodities. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations associated with assigned commodities, such as ROHS, REACH, and other pertinent environmental legislation. Focus primarily on mechanical commodities while having opportunities to expand experience into diverse product categories.

Qualifications:

Preferred higher education qualification in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering. Strong enthusiasm for procurement and supply chain management. Alternatively, a business-related qualification with a keen interest in engineering will be considered. Relevant experience may be taken into account in lieu of formal qualifications. Proven experience in managing commodities effectively. Excellent negotiation capabilities.
