Position Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of this role is to coordinate and oversee strategic and daily procurement activities, ensuring that Saab Seaeye maintains exceptional supplier quality and delivery capabilities at the most competitive costs.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish strategic partnerships with key suppliers to enhance overall supply chain performance in alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Actively monitor and manage supplier performance.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineering teams to create technology partnership agreements and manage relationships effectively.
  • Support the selection and management of subcontract engineering development work packages.
  • Continuously engage with existing and new suppliers to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets, thereby increasing overall business profitability.
  • Manage comprehensive supply chain business risk plans.
  • Negotiate long-term purchase orders and contracts with key suppliers to ensure the fulfillment of critical customer contracts.
  • Develop strong supplier relationships, particularly in high-value/high-risk environments, implementing contracts as necessary.
  • Oversee the RFQ process for new product development.
  • Plan and forecast cash flow to facilitate payment terms negotiations.
  • Work closely with Quality and Material Planning teams to implement business improvements.
  • Collaborate with other Saab supply chain functions in the UK and globally to identify efficiency opportunities and leverage synergies.
  • Manage a team responsible for production material procurement, strategic supply chain management, and new product procurement.
  • Ensure the team possesses the necessary skills and experience, organized appropriately to meet business needs.
  • Supervise reporting staff to effectively train, evaluate, motivate, delegate, and monitor their activities to meet deadlines.
  • Assess and identify staff skills and training needs to prevent exposure and skill shortages.
  • Monitor workloads, efficiency, and resource levels, reporting potential shortfalls.
  • Ensure effective time management in accordance with company policies.

General Responsibilities:

  • Act as a proactive member of the Operations Management team to achieve business objectives.
  • Utilize personal judgment and initiative to develop effective solutions to challenges encountered in daily operations.
  • Maintain proficiency in all relevant IT and other systems necessary for the role.
  • Conduct oneself ethically, with integrity, and in the best interest of the business at all times.
  • Foster professional and supportive relationships with team members and other departments to achieve business objectives.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by management or authorized representatives.
  • Practice effective time management to minimize wasted time and maximize productivity.
