We are seeking a Senior Collections & House Officer to enhance our team at Blickling Estate.

Your expertise in planning and programming will be invaluable in our collaborative, innovative, and supportive environment. We require a professional who can advocate for exceptional collections management practices, orchestrate engaging programming, and collaborate across various sectors of the estate to narrate diverse stories.



Work Environment

In this role, you will report to the Property Curator and oversee a team of three Collections & House Officers, along with volunteers, to implement effective collections management throughout the estate. Your leadership will be crucial in redefining what is significant and developing strategies for its preservation and broad dissemination.



Key Responsibilities

Your main duties will include:

  • Planning and executing programming projects and core interpretation, ensuring that adequate resources are available for a comprehensive schedule of activities aligned with estate programming.
  • Managing the creation of new inventory records and overseeing legal ownership and provenance initiatives to enhance the diversity of our conservation, interpretation, and public presentation.
  • Leading by example to foster a culture of outstanding customer service, engaging visitors with our collections and the values of the National Trust.
  • Supervising the daily opening of the house and the presentation of the collection, focusing on visitor engagement and experience one day a week and one weekend every four weeks.


Candidate Profile
