Position Overview

An excellent opportunity has emerged within our Education and Learning Department for a dedicated and proactive individual to join our Medical Education Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering extensive administrative and secretarial support.

The role entails assisting the Head of Academy along with both undergraduate and postgraduate teams in the field of obstetrics and gynaecology. The individual will be expected to foster effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders, including medical schools and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities

The postholder will undertake a variety of administrative tasks, including:

  • Recruitment of examiners
  • Coordination of medical assessments
  • Allocation of students to consultant teams and Senior Academic Tutors
  • Facilitating student induction
  • Preparation of schedules
  • Recruitment of educators for undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programs
  • Compilation of student and doctor information resources

Additionally, the postholder will serve as a primary point of contact for students and doctors during their placements, providing essential support and guidance.

Main Duties

While the role does not carry direct professional responsibilities, it demands a high level of initiative and decision-making regarding workload management, student inquiries, and general communications. The ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion is crucial.

The postholder will also collaborate with the Education Centre Teams to ensure the seamless operation of educational services, maintaining high standards for educational delivery.

Essential Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • A minimum of three years of administrative or secretarial experience
  • Experience handling confidential information
  • Background in a customer-focused environment
  • Flexibility in working hours to accommodate various needs
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
