Job Title: Boarding House Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Boarding House Chef to join our team at Uppingham School. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchens, providing high-quality food and exceptional customer service to our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, presentation, and service.
  • Manage a team of chefs and kitchen staff to ensure efficient and effective food production.
  • Develop and implement menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our students and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards, and maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
  • Collaborate with the Group Executive Chef to plan and implement culinary events and activities.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a senior chef in a similar environment.
  • Excellent culinary skills, with a focus on quality, presentation, and flavor.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and external partners.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and holidays.
