About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Young Persons Support Worker. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing support, guidance, and education to young people who are experiencing difficulties with substance misuse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and group support to young people, helping them to access their needs and develop care plans.
  • Deliver a range of treatments and interventions to support young people in overcoming their challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with other agencies and professionals to safeguard the well-being of young people.
  • Engage with young people to provide them with the support, training, and education they need to better understand the implications of their situations and make informed decisions.
  • Conduct risk assessments and complete care plans for young people, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Requirements
  • Hold a relevant qualification, such as an ONC/NVQ level 3, or be willing to achieve this within 12 months.
  • Have experience of working with young people in a one-to-one or group setting.
  • Have experience of working with young people who have substance misuse and/or mental health difficulties.
  • Have excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with a range of people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Be able to work independently and as part of a team, sharing knowledge and expertise.
  • Have good organizational skills, with the ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage audiences through presentations.
  • Be able to record and maintain accurate case details in a timely manner.
  • Have effective IT skills, with the ability to use a range of software and digital media.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • A qualification in substance misuse, mental health, psychology, nursing, or youth work.
  • Experience of working within Children's Social Care.
  • Knowledge of parenting skills and issues.
