About the Role

We Are With You is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Young Persons Worker to join our team. As a Young Persons Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting young people who are experiencing difficulties with substance misuse and mental health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support a caseload of young people in a 1:1 or group setting, providing guidance and education to help them navigate their challenges.
  • Work with young people to access their needs, develop care plans, and deliver a variety of treatments and/or refer them to other specialist support when needed.
  • Proactively engage with young people to provide them with the support, training, and education they need to better understand the implications of their situations and make informed decisions.
  • Collaborate with other agencies and professionals to safeguard young clients and work with their families where appropriate.
Requirements
  • ONC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification, or willingness to achieve this within 12 months.
  • Enhanced level DBS and barred lists check.
  • Experience of working with young people in a 1:1 or group setting, particularly those with substance misuse and/or mental health difficulties.
  • Excellent relationship building skills with a range of people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work effectively on your own and as part of a team, sharing skills, knowledge, and experience.
  • Good organisational skills to manage time effectively, prioritise work, and cope with competing demands.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including engaging delivery of presentations.
  • Ability to record and maintain accurate case details in a timely manner.
  • Effective IT skills, able to use different packages and digital media.
