Job Summary

NHS England, South East Region, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Training Programme Director in General Internal Medicine. This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant with a strong interest in medical education and training to lead the delivery of the Acute Medicine training programme.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work with the Head of School to lead the delivery of a wide range of functions aligned to NHS England's mandate.
  • Focus on improving learner supervision, assessment, and experience, as well as engaging faculty and ensuring effective educational outcomes.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the training programme, including whole workforce transformation and multi-professional links.
About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of medical education and training, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills. The ideal candidate will be an experienced NHS Consultant with a thorough understanding of specialty training across the region.

Person Specification
  • Fellowship of a College/Faculty, professional association, and/or body.
  • Attendance at courses aimed at supporting educational development.
  • Experience of clinical and educational leadership, including managing a multi-professional team.
  • Understanding of developments involving relevant Colleges/Faculties, professional bodies, and NHS organisations.
