Job Title: Associate Head of School and Training Programme Director

The South East Schools of Public Health operate across the South East region as three units of application: KSS, TV, and WX. The Wessex School of Public Health is seeking an Associate Head of School and Training Programme Director to support and lead the Wessex School.

The role is offered as one post, with the Associate Head of School working 0.5 days a week and the Training Programme Director working 1.5 days a week. The Associate Head of School will work with the South East Head of School to lead the Wessex School and its programmes, while the Training Programme Director will lead the specialty training programme for Wessex.

The NHS England board has set out the top-level purpose for the new organisation to lead the NHS in England to deliver high-quality services for all. This purpose will inform the detailed design work, which will be achieved by:

  1. Enabling local systems and providers to improve the health of their people and patients and reduce health inequalities.
  2. Making the NHS a great place to work, where our people can make a difference and achieve their potential.
  3. Working collaboratively to ensure our healthcare workforce has the right knowledge, skills, values, and behaviours to deliver accessible, compassionate care.
  4. Optimising the use of digital technology, research, and innovation.

This is an exciting time to join the South East School of Public Health to shape and lead the Wessex School's public health training, education, and development programmes.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience and knowledge of the Educational Supervisor role and a good understanding of wider public health workforce development programmes that operate in Wessex.
