Job Summary

The NHS England, South East Region, Wessex Local Office is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Training Programme Director in General Internal Medicine. This is a unique opportunity for a Consultant with a strong interest in medical education and training to lead the delivery of the Acute Medicine training programme.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the overall delivery of the Acute Medicine training programme, ensuring effective educational outcomes and learner supervision, assessment, and experience.
  • Engage faculty and develop multi-professional links to drive workforce transformation and improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with the Head of School to align functions with NHS England's mandate.
About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the NHS England team and contribute to the development of the future healthcare and public health workforce. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the delivery of the Acute Medicine training programme, working closely with the Head of School and other stakeholders to ensure effective educational outcomes.

Requirements
  • Experience in clinical and educational leadership, including managing a multi-professional team.
  • Strong understanding of developments involving relevant Colleges/Faculties, professional bodies, and NHS organisations.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to problem-solve and maintain objectivity.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to quickly establish credibility with key stakeholders.
