Job Title: Academic Training Programme Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Academic Training Programme Director to lead the delivery of the Core Surgical training programme in Neurosurgery.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive training programme for Neurosurgery residents
  • Work closely with the Head of School to lead the delivery of a wide range of functions aligned to NHS England mandate
  • Focus on improving learner supervision, assessment, and experience, as well as engagement of faculty and effective educational outcomes
  • Contribute to whole workforce transformation and developing multi-professional links
Requirements:
  • Experience as a Consultant in Neurosurgery with a strong interest in medical education and training
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as a member of a multi-professional team
  • Thorough understanding of specialty training across the region
  • Ability to innovate and problem-solve, with excellent organisational and time management skills
