We are seeking an experienced Senior Housing Manager to join our team at HR Services and Solutions. As a Senior Housing Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our housing services, ensuring that our tenants receive the highest level of service and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the applications and allocations process to ensure that all tenants are placed in suitable accommodation.
- Manage the viewings, sign-ups, and new tenant visits to ensure a smooth transition for all parties involved.
- Monitor and manage rent arrears, taking proactive steps to prevent and resolve any issues that may arise.
- Provide an effective tenancy management service, ensuring that all tenants are aware of their rights and responsibilities.
- Manage cases of nuisance and anti-social behaviour, working closely with other agencies to resolve any issues.
- Conduct regular estate inspections to ensure that all properties are well-maintained and meet the required standards.
- Support and encourage tenants to be involved in decision-making processes, ensuring that their voices are heard.
- Liaise with other agencies, including housing, health, and social care professionals, to ensure that our tenants receive the best possible support.
- Manage the supported housing officer(s), providing guidance and support as needed.
- Ensure that all tenants receive good financial and welfare benefits advice, working with partner agencies where necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date tenancy files and records, ensuring that all information is easily accessible and reviewed regularly.
Requirements:
- Demonstrable experience in a housing officer role, with a proven track record of success.
- Up-to-date knowledge of housing law, welfare reform, and legal requirements, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical context.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with tenants, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
- Good IT skills, with the ability to use a range of software applications to manage tenancies and maintain records.
- Extensive experience of housing management, working for a local authority or housing association.
