Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor

Our client, a prominent player in the mechanical and electrical contracting industry, is celebrated for its commitment to delivering exceptional engineering solutions across a variety of commercial and residential developments. As they continue to grow their project portfolio, they are looking to enhance their team with skilled professionals.

This role is ideal for a Senior Quantity Surveyor, Project Quantity Surveyor, or Lead Quantity Surveyor with a proven track record in managing M&E projects valued at over £10 million.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Management: Develop and oversee cost estimates, budgets, and financial plans. Ensure project expenditures align with established budgets.
  • Tendering and Procurement: Create comprehensive tender documents, contracts, and bills of quantities. Assess and negotiate terms with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Valuation and Variations: Perform valuations and manage change orders. Guarantee timely and accurate payment applications and final account settlements.
  • Risk Management: Identify and evaluate project risks, formulating effective mitigation strategies.
  • Reporting: Generate detailed reports on project status, cost management, and financial outcomes. Communicate findings to relevant stakeholders.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to contractual obligations, building codes, and health and safety regulations.
  • Collaboration: Partner with project managers, engineers, architects, and other key stakeholders to achieve project objectives.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of experience in quantity surveying within the M&E sector.
  • Experience managing M&E projects with a minimum value of £10 million.
  • In-depth knowledge of M&E systems and construction methodologies.
  • Proficient in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
