BAM Nuttall is seeking a skilled and driven Senior Quantity Surveyor to enhance our dynamic team, overseeing significant civil engineering initiatives. Your responsibilities

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing a variety of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maximizing value.
  • Collaborating on joint venture projects and cultivating productive partnerships.
  • Demonstrating excellence in contract negotiations to enhance project profitability.
  • Guiding and mentoring team members to improve operational efficiency.
  • Exhibiting outstanding collaboration and communication skills.
  • Managing multiple tasks effectively to meet project deliverables without sacrificing quality.
  • Supervising and mentoring your team within the commercial framework.
  • Establishing and managing commercial strategies with client representatives.
  • Engaging with supply chain partners through pre-contract discussions, contract reviews, and input into subcontract documentation.
  • Overseeing the commercial management of subcontractors.
  • Tracking the timely generation of accurate cost performance data.
  • Preparing and presenting monthly and quarterly financial reports.
  • Ensuring timely submissions of payment applications in line with contract stipulations.
  • Providing commercial guidance to site teams and management on contractual matters.
  • Conducting financial evaluations of insurance claims in collaboration with insurers.
  • Effectively managing your time and that of your commercial team.
Who are we looking for?

Essential qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor or a Quantity Surveyor ready to advance in their career, showcasing strong commercial skills.
  • Familiarity with NEC forms of contract.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior team members.
  • Capacity to build and maintain collaborative relationships with project stakeholders, including clients, project managers, and designers.
  • Confidence and capability to work effectively within a team environment, positively influencing project outcomes.
  • Relevant qualifications (Degree, HNC/D).

Desirable qualifications:

  • Experience with Early Contractor Involvement.
  • Knowledge of target cost contracts.
  • Relevant professional qualifications (CICES/RICS).
