About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Debt Collection Analyst to join our Creditor Services team at RSM UK. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in maximizing recoveries on behalf of our clients while ensuring compliance with internal and external protocols.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in business-to-business debt collection, with excellent negotiation and communication skills. You will be responsible for collecting outstanding debts through phone and written correspondence, conducting investigations into customer affairs, and identifying potential cases for further action.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collect outstanding business-to-business debt through phone and written correspondence
  • Conduct investigations into customer affairs and identify potential cases for further action
  • Provide weekly, monthly, and ad hoc updates and reporting to clients and analysis of debt to Managers
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external protocols
  • Minimize potential complaints and deal with them in line with agreed procedures
  • Meet regular targets set within the team and department
  • Understand and adopt approaches towards different customers according to the situation
  • Maintain awareness of Treating Customers Fairly when communicating with customers
  • Assist with other departments as necessary, including upselling of internal portfolio risk products
  • Consider the use of data and analytics to drive efficiencies and deliver a premium service to clients

Personal and Professional Qualities

  • We are looking for a proactive and forward-thinking individual who can work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience of working in a telephone-based role, either within debt collection, customer services, or sales
  • Insolvency-based background would be beneficial
  • Understanding of business-to-business debt collection
  • Previous experience of working with clients within the utilities sector would be beneficial
  • Studying for Institute of Credit Management would be advantageous
  • Effective use of IT, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Maintains high professional standards of conduct and practice
  • Able to organize and manage time efficiently and effectively while being flexible
  • Awareness of TCF, Lending Standards Board
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
