About the Role
RSM's Creditor Services team is a leading provider of debt collection services, with a strong reputation for delivering results-driven solutions to clients across various industries. As a Debt Recovery Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Debt Management team in maximizing recoveries on behalf of our clients, while ensuring compliance with internal and external protocols.
Responsibilities
- Collect outstanding business-to-business debt through phone and written communication in a fast-paced environment.
- Conduct investigations into customer affairs, asset positions, and identify business distress triggers.
- Identify potential cases for further action, including legal escalation or internal referrals.
- Provide regular updates and reporting to clients, analyzing debt trends and offering insights to management.
- Ensure adherence to defined debt management processes, with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency.
- Minimize complaints and resolve them in accordance with agreed procedures.
- Meet regular targets set by the team and department.
- Develop a deep understanding of customer approaches and adapt to different situations, with a focus on treating customers fairly.
- Collaborate with other departments, including upselling internal portfolio risk products.
- Explore the use of data and analytics to drive efficiencies and deliver exceptional client service.

- Experience in telephone-based roles, debt collection, customer services, or sales is essential.
- An insolvency background is beneficial, as is a deep understanding of business-to-business debt collection.
- Previous experience working with clients in the utilities sector is advantageous.
- Studying for the Institute of Credit Management is a plus.
- Effective use of IT, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is required.
- Maintain high professional standards of conduct and practice.
- Able to organize and manage time efficiently, with flexibility.
- Awareness of TCF and Lending Standards Board is essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment is crucial.
