Job Summary

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a practice educator to support nursing practice and development on the Older Persons Admissions unit at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Matron and Ward Leads to develop and implement the educational plan for the unit, ensuring that staff have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide high-quality care to patients.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide educational support to nursing staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in caring for older adults.
  • Develop and implement training programs and study days to meet the educational needs of the unit.
  • Assess and provide feedback to staff on their clinical practice.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure that patients receive comprehensive care.
Requirements
  • NMC registration as a nurse.
  • Experience in acute care and elderly care.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire staff to improve their practice.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Commitment to delivering safe, responsible, and respectful care.
