We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Practice Educator to join our team at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Practice Educator, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of our nursing staff, particularly in the Older Persons Admissions Unit.
Key Responsibilities- Provide educational support to nursing staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality care to patients on the Older Persons Admissions Unit.
- Act as a resource for staff, offering expert tuition, support, and guidance to nursing staff caring for acutely unwell patients and their families.
- Develop and implement training programs, study days, and action plans to meet the educational needs of the team.
- Assess and provide feedback on the practice of nursing staff, ensuring they meet the required standards.
- Work closely with the Matron and Ward Leads to plan, organize, and facilitate training programs and study days.
- NMC registration as a nurse with a minimum of 1 year of experience in adult care.
- Experience as a registered nurse in an acute care setting, with a strong understanding of Older Persons Medicine and the importance of a Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment.
- Ability to motivate and inspire nursing staff, creating a positive learning environment.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize learning needs and plan to address the needs of the wider team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
