Job Summary:
The Transformation Unit is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Practice Educator to join our team. As a Clinical Practice Educator, you will play a vital role in supporting and assessing clinical staff in their practice, assisting in the development of training programs, and providing feedback.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support and assess clinical staff in their practice, providing guidance and feedback to ensure high-quality care.
- Assist in the development and implementation of training programs, study days, and action plans to meet the developmental needs of clinical staff.
- Work closely with Matrons and Ward Leads to plan, organize, and facilitate training programs, ensuring that all staff receive the necessary support and development opportunities.
- Provide expert tuition, support, and guidance to nursing staff caring for acutely unwell patients and their families, sharing extensive knowledge of specialist conditions.
- Act as a role model, ensuring that standards are met in clinical practice, and being professionally accountable without direct supervision.
- Have the technical expertise to act as a trainer for medical devices and equipment, training nursing staff to ensure safety and competence in practice.
Requirements:
- NMC registration as an adult nurse, with a minimum of 1 year of experience.
- Teaching and assessment qualification.
- Experience as a registered nurse within acute care, with a strong background in elderly care.
- Ability to motivate and inspire, create a positive learning environment, and critically appraise and provide feedback in a constructive manner.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to problem-solve, and commitment to the development of others.
- Experience in leadership and knowledge of Older Persons Medicine, including Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment and discharge processes.
