Job Summary

A unique opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Practice Educator to join our team at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital, supporting nursing practice and development on the Older Persons Admissions unit.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work closely with the Matron and Ward Leads to develop and implement the educational plan for the unit, ensuring the needs of existing teams are met and preparing for the move into the new unit. This role requires a dynamic and passionate individual with a proven ability to self-motivate and work autonomously.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide educational support to nursing staff to deliver highly specialist care to acutely unwell patients.
  • Act as a resource for staff, offering expert tuition, support, and guidance in Elderly Care Admissions Unit.
  • Develop and implement training programs, study days, and action plans to ensure staff have the necessary skills and knowledge.
  • Support and assess practice, providing feedback and promoting a positive learning environment.
Person Specification
  • NMC registration with a minimum of 1 year of experience.
  • Teaching and assessment qualification desirable.
  • Experience as a registered nurse in acute care, with experience in supervising and facilitating pre-registered students and staff nurses.
