About the Role

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our efforts in promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within our organization. As an Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to ensure that our services are accessible and equitable for all stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead on the development and implementation of our Health Equity Action Plan, in collaboration with our Board.
  • Ensure that our Board is supported to embed Co-Production principles into decision-making and facilitate the engagement and involvement of our Co-Production Network.
  • Lead, motivate, develop, and coach staff within the Co-Production team and a team of Inclusion Officers.
  • Ensure that our service has robust arrangements in place to capture, analyze, and act on equality monitoring data to inform service improvements and employment best practice.
  • Write and present annual diversity audit reports covering employment and service delivery.
  • Chair and lead on working/sub/task & finish groups as directed by our Board.
  • Work closely with all Cluster managers and their teams to ensure consistency of approach and be the point of contact for expert advice, including the delivery of briefing sessions.
  • Draft relevant policies, procedures, and strategies as directed by our Board or line manager.
  • Draft and present contract monitoring/performance reports to the commissioner on work related to health inequalities, peer support, and co-production.
  • Work in partnership with HR and Strategic Delivery/Operational Delivery colleagues to inform inclusive staff recruitment, retention, and development strategies.
  • Deliver and facilitate learning and training sessions as directed by our Partnership Board, the Strategic Delivery Group/Operational Delivery Group.
  • Deliver induction seminars to our workforce outlining the work that the Inclusion Team delivers within our service.
  • Lead on specified projects/development work as directed by our Board/Strategic Delivery Group and line manager.
  • Support the service to lead on and facilitate service user consultation and involvement activities.
  • Develop links, relationships, and alliances with organizations in the city representing protected characteristic groups and diverse communities.
  • Represent the service on local, regional, and national equality/diversity/health inequalities networks/forums.
  • Support development of protected characteristics staff support and network groups through the Inclusion Coordinator role.
  • Keep up to date and share knowledge around current legislative, public policy, and best practice advice and guidance on equality, diversity, and inclusion matters.
Managing Staff
  • Provide day-to-day leadership to the team of paid staff in line with our policies. Ensure that staff carry out the key tasks expected of them.
  • Carry out regularly supervisions and annual Touchstone employee appraisals. Monitor individual performance against agreed targets.
  • Conduct regular Training Needs Analyses with all employees in the team.
  • Ensure that employees adhere to our policies and procedures.
  • Lead and participate in the recruitment, selection, and induction of Touchstone employees as appropriate.
Service Development
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of equality, diversity, inclusion, and co-production and apply this knowledge to the needs of our service.
  • Develop and maintain a cohesive service team that meets the needs of our service and its partners.
Finance
  • Effectively manage delegated budgets and ensure all purchasing is undertaken in accordance with our expectations.
  • Ensure that premises are well maintained and comply with relevant legislation and regulations.
General
  • Actively promote and provide information about our service and equal opportunities best practice to other Touchstone services and to people/agencies with an interest in our work.
  • Be inducted, supervised, performance monitored, and appraised in line with our performance management policies and procedures.
  • Be responsible for personal learning and development where appropriate and undertake training, both mandatory and optional, to increase knowledge, skills, and awareness.
  • Provide monitoring information and reports as part of funding and organizational requirements and for the Board of Trustees as requested by Touchstone management.
  • Be aware of and employ the general practices of our health and safety policy and ensure these are adhered to at all times.
  • Operate within the values, aims, policies, and practices of Touchstone at all times and to be committed to and promote the organization's equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory policies.
  • Keep the Operations Director informed of serious incidents, safeguarding issues, health & safety concerns, financial issues, service user and staff welfare issues.
  • Be aware of and employ the general practices of organizational Safeguarding and Health and Safety policies and ensure these are adhered to at all times.
  • Ensure that appropriate monitoring and evaluation systems are set up and maintained. This includes the development of new record-keeping systems, analyzing information, and compiling reports based on qualitative and quantitative monitoring and evaluation data as required by commissioners and Touchstone.
  • Lead on the development and maintenance of links with public and voluntary sector partners.
  • Always work as part of a team. This includes working with other staff, attending team and staff meetings, and developing a teamwork approach to all aspects of the work.
  • Ensure information is dealt with in accordance with our policies around GDPR, Confidentiality, Communications, Internet, Email, and Telecommunications and steps are taken to ensure that confidential information is secure volunteer and service user data.
  • Ensure that Data Protection, Health & Safety, Complaints Handling, and Corporate Governance requirements are met.
  • Undertake out-of-hours and weekend work as required by the service.
  • Undertake any other duties as directed by the Operations Director, in line with the responsibilities of this post.
