About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Child Protection Coordinator to join our team at Southwark Council. As a key member of our Quality Assurance unit, you will play a vital role in safeguarding children and supporting their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead child protection conferences and statutory reviews, ensuring that every voice is heard and every decision is fair and consistent.
  • Develop and implement innovative approaches to child protection, empowering families to actively participate in the process.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure that our child protection practices are grounded in best evidence and meet the needs of our diverse community.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures that promote the safety and wellbeing of children.
Requirements
  • Deep understanding of child protection legislation, family court processes, and children's rights.
  • Passion for championing equal opportunities and diversity in every aspect of your work.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with children, families, and professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and partnership working.
