Caritas Futures is proud to partner with the NSPCC, a leading children's charity, to recruit dedicated ChildLine Practitioners (Universal) for our Aberdeen and London teams.


This is a permanent opportunity for part-time (17.5 hours) or full-time roles, offering a competitive salary of £34,582 - £38,425, plus a 7% shift allowance and a £200 home working allowance for hybrid working arrangements.


As a ChildLine Practitioner, you will play a vital role in empowering the public to protect children, providing emotional support, practical guidance, and assistance to those who suspect a child may be at risk of abuse.


Our UK-wide Helpline prioritizes empowering the public to protect children and young people, and as an advisor, you will provide empathetic support, practical guidance, and help to anyone who thinks a child may be at risk of abuse. You will work closely with adults across the UK, encouraging and empowering them to look out for the children around them and give them a voice when they need it most.


This is an exceptional opportunity to develop your child protection expertise within a unique and influential national service, working for an organization that puts children first and makes a positive impact on thousands of families across the UK.


You will provide advice and assistance to the public via various channels, taking ownership of each contact and assessing the risk. You will also liaise with NSPCC's external child protection partners to ensure prompt and effective action is taken to minimize the risk to any child.

  1. Experience in safeguarding children, preferably in Domestic Violence/Domestic Abuse.
  2. Substantial experience in safeguarding children and young people.
  3. Up-to-date knowledge of child protection legislation and practical experience of child protection and welfare issues.
  4. An understanding of the needs of children and their psychosocial development.

This is a fast-paced national helpline with demanding targets, requiring self-discipline and the ability to work quickly to effectively deliver a child-focused service.
