Role Overview:

Sanctuary Personnel Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child Protection Advisor to join our team. As a Child Protection Advisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people in need of protection.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Chair Child Protection Conferences: You will chair Child Protection Conferences in accordance with current legislation, regulations, statutory guidance, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure High-Quality Decisions: You will ensure that CP Conferences scrutinize assessments, planning, and the provision of services to ensure high-quality decisions that promote children's best interests and improved outcomes.
  • Review Protection Plans: You will review protection plans with due regard for the opportunities and strengths that lie within family/friendship networks, the importance of building safety for children in need of protection, and the importance of achieving permanence of children and young people who cannot live with their birth families.
  • Monitor and Evaluate Quality of Practice: You will monitor and evaluate the quality of practice in relation to care and protection using quality assurance methods and systems, providing feedback to managers within the service and CYPS as a whole.
  • Contribute to Quality Assurance Exercises: You will contribute to CYPS arrangements for audits, quality assurance exercises, systems maintenance, development, and individual performance management to ensure high-quality decision making, planning, and provision of service to continually improve outcomes for children.
  • Challenge Concerns: You will challenge concerns about care and protection planning and decision making for children and young people and formalize unresolved concerns by escalating as necessary.
  • Ensure Children's Views are Heard: You will ensure that the views, wishes, and feelings of children/young people are taken into account in the care planning and child protection process while ensuring that all children/young people are supported to make a meaningful contribution to their reviews and conferences.
  • Contribute to Policy Development: You will contribute to the development of policy and practice guidance relating to meeting the needs of children subject to child protection plans.
  • Undertake Temporary Responsibilities: You will undertake any other temporary responsibilities aligned with the overall purpose and grade of the role.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: A social work qualification or equivalent.
  • Continual Professional Development: Continual professional development.
