Child Protection Advisor Job Description

Sanctuary Personnel Ltd, a leading recruitment agency, is seeking a highly skilled Child Protection Advisor to join their team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be based in Haringey and will work full-time.

Job Summary

The Child Protection Advisor will be responsible for chairing Child Protection Conferences, ensuring high-quality decisions are made to promote children's best interests and improved outcomes. The role will involve reviewing protection plans, monitoring and evaluating the quality of practice, and contributing to the development of policy and practice guidance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Chair Child Protection Conferences in accordance with current legislation, regulations, and statutory guidance.
  • Ensure CP Conferences scrutinise assessments, planning, and the provision of services to ensure high-quality decisions.
  • Review protection plans with due regard for family strengths, building safety for children, and achieving permanence.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality of practice using quality assurance methods and systems.
  • Contribute to CYPS arrangements for audits, quality assurance exercises, and individual performance management.
  • Challenge concerns about care and protection planning and decision making.
  • Ensure the views, wishes, and feelings of children/young people are taken into account in the care planning process.
  • Contribute to the development of policy and practice guidance.
Requirements
  • A social Work Qualification or equivalent.
  • Continual professional development.
