Caritas Futures is proud to be partnering with the NSPCC, a leading children's charity, to recruit several ChildLine Universal Practitioners to join their teams in Aberdeen and London. This is a permanent opportunity that can offer flexible working hours, including 17.5 hours, 28 hours, and full-time positions. The salary for this role is £34,582 - £38,425, plus a 7% shift allowance and a £200 home working allowance for those who opt for hybrid working. As a ChildLine Practitioner, you will play a vital role in empowering the public to protect children, providing emotional support, practical guidance, and help to anyone who thinks a child may be at risk of abuse. You will work as an advisor to adults across the UK, encouraging and empowering them to look out for the children around them and give them a voice when they need it most. This is a unique opportunity to develop your child protection expertise within a highly influential national service, working for an organisation that puts children first and making a positive impact on thousands of families across the UK. Your responsibilities will include providing advice and assistance to the public via telephone, email, text, and social media, taking ownership of each contact and assessing the risk to ensure prompt and effective action is taken to minimise the risk to any child. You will also liaise with NSPCC's external child protection partners, such as Children's Services and the Police, to ensure that children are protected. To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience with safeguarding children, ideally in Domestic Violence/Domestic Abuse, and substantial and extensive experience in safeguarding children and young people. You will also need to have up-to-date knowledge of child protection legislation and practical experience of child protection and welfare issues.
