Role Overview

The Bridge Project collaborates with Project 6 and Humankind, and under this partnership, New Vision Bradford was initiated. This collaboration provides an adult substance misuse service for the Bradford and Craven District, focusing on assisting individuals in addressing alcohol and drug misuse while minimizing risk-taking behaviors through dedicated prevention, intervention, and support services.

We are currently seeking a Concerned Other Worker. If you possess the necessary skills for this role, we encourage you to consider this opportunity. This is a permanent, part-time position that requires travel across various service sites in Bradford, making a valid driving license and access to a vehicle essential for work purposes.

In this position, you will be a vital member of a multi-disciplinary team, providing support to individuals impacted by someone else's substance misuse. Your responsibilities will include conducting brief interventions, assessing needs and risks (including safeguarding), offering a structured program of individual support, and facilitating onward referrals and exit planning. This role is crucial, and the successful candidate will need to effectively engage with concerned individuals who may be experiencing distress. Strong listening and communication skills are essential to provide information and both practical and emotional support to those in need, whether in person or via telephone.

To qualify for this role, candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of full-time experience in a social or healthcare setting, managing a caseload.

We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual in this field, with a positive and engaging demeanor. You should be highly organized, capable of managing your time efficiently, and adept at responding to internal referrals to maintain a high-quality service. Your knowledge of the challenges faced by concerned individuals or those with substance misuse issues will be invaluable. Familiarity with mental health interventions, services, and best practices is desirable.

Flexibility in working hours is required for this position. Additionally, a willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check is mandatory.

In return, we offer a competitive salary, a 4% pension contribution, generous annual leave, an employee assistance program, life insurance, and a variety of mindfulness activities for staff. The Bridge Project is recognized as a Mindful Employer.
