Location: Newbury or London, hybrid working

Salary: Competitive base salary plus bonus and comprehensive Vodafone benefits

Working Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week or part-time - Monday to Friday

Role Overview

As a Legal Counsel within the Vodafone UK Competition legal team, you will deliver exceptional, solution-oriented legal advice on all facets of competition law and telecommunications regulation across Vodafone's UK operations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with colleagues in the broader Legal department to address competition law inquiries.
  • Building relationships with key stakeholders across the organization to identify competition law risks and provide timely responses.
  • Supporting the annual competition law compliance strategy, including conducting training sessions and preparing essential compliance communications.
  • Overseeing Vodafone's compliance with competition law in relation to projects and agreements with competitors and third parties.
  • Contributing to regulatory consultations on policy initiatives alongside the Regulatory team.
  • Assisting in managing regulatory investigations and litigation.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A solid foundation in relevant legal areas.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects and stakeholders while meeting deadlines under pressure.
  • Strong decision-making capabilities and the ability to communicate key risks effectively.
  • A keen interest in understanding Vodafone UK's business.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within the Competition legal team and across other legal teams to provide high-quality legal advice.
  • A university honors degree (second class or better) or equivalent qualification.
  • Qualified lawyer status (Solicitor, Barrister, Chartered Legal Executive, or equivalent) with experience in private practice or in-house.
  • Proficient drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of delivering clear and practical advice tailored to the audience.
  • Experience in the telecommunications sector is desirable but not mandatory.
