Role Overview:

As a Competition Associate Solicitor, you will play a key role in advising clients on a wide range of competition law matters, including:

  • Merger Control and Integration
  • Antitrust Investigations and Compliance

You will work closely with clients across various sectors, providing strategic advice and ensuring compliance with UK and EU competition laws. This role offers significant client exposure and the opportunity to take on substantial responsibility in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advising clients on all aspects of competition law, including investigations by competition authorities, merger control filings, and compliance matters.
  • Representing clients in competition law proceedings and liaising with regulators.
  • Conducting legal research and analysis to provide practical solutions to complex legal issues.
  • Drafting and reviewing legal documents, including agreements, pleadings, and submissions to competition authorities.
  • Developing and maintaining strong client relationships and contributing to business development initiatives.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4 years and a maximum of 7 years of post-qualified experience (PQE) in competition law.
  • A strong academic background with a qualification from a leading law firm or in-house legal team.
  • Proven experience in advising on UK and EU competition law matters.
  • Excellent analytical and drafting skills, with the ability to present complex legal arguments clearly and effectively.
  • Strong client-facing skills and the ability to build lasting relationships with clients and colleagues alike.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines.
