Job Summary

This is a fixed-term/secondment position until 31/05/2025 due to maternity cover. If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, and ambitious RN/RSCN to join our Acute Paediatric Nursing Service at Glangwili General Hospital, Carmarthen. The clinical areas provide local services for children, including 24 inpatient children's beds, 3 high dependency beds, and an 8-bedded Paediatric Ambulatory Care Unit.

The role offers opportunities to develop a broad range of specialized skills working within multi-disciplinary and multi-agency partnerships. We provide an excellent service to meet the needs of children and families, incorporating Family Centred Care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for children
  • Prioritize work and manage time effectively
  • Provide excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Work well in a team and on own initiative
  • Demonstrate a willingness to develop their role
About Us

Requirements
  • Registered Nurse part 8 or 15 of register
  • Current NMC Registration
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Statutory and mandatory training
  • Awareness of Health Board Policies, Procedures, and Guidelines
Desirable Qualifications and Skills
  • Diploma/Degree in Nursing
  • EPLS/APLS/PALS WNB 998 or equivalent
  • Awareness of Clinical Governance
  • Governance Awareness of topical issues in health and social care
Language Skills

The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post. If you do not meet the Welsh Language requirements specified, the Health Board offers a variety of learning options and staff support to help you meet these minimal desirable requirements during the course of your employment with us.
