Ward Sister/Charge Nurse

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Ward Sister/Charge Nurse on Morlais Ward at Glangwili Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the assessment of care needs, development, implementation, and evaluation of programs of care without supervision.
Main Responsibilities
- Assess care needs and develop, implement, and evaluate programs of care without supervision.
- Teach other nursing and non-nursing staff.
- Supervise and appraise staff nurses.
- Take charge in the absence of the Ward Manager.
Requirements
- Current registration on a professional register.
- Specialist knowledge within the field of clinical skills gained through theoretical and practical training and experience to postgraduate diploma level.
- Sound knowledge of clinical issues within the area of practice.
- Ability to work safely and demonstrate understanding of Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
- Maintains high standards in the workplace as directed by policies and procedures.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- WNB 998/Practice Teacher Award and assessing or equivalent.
- HCR-20 Training.
- Specialist knowledge within relevant specialist field obtained through advanced post-registration specialist training.
- Experience of working with people who have complex mental health needs and who may present challenging behaviors/risk of violence to others.
