Our client is a prestigious hotel situated in Hook.

They are seeking a capable Assistant Head of Housekeeping who upholds exceptional standards and possesses the ability to ensure that accommodations meet guest expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain awareness of guest needs and ensure that team members also recognize guest expectations.
  • Anticipate guest requirements and take proactive measures to prevent complaints. Address any guest issues promptly, reporting all incidents to the Head Housekeeper and documenting them in the handover log.
  • Oversee the daily coordination of all housekeeping operations, ensuring that special guest requests are fulfilled. Communicate effectively between Housekeeping and Reception regarding room status and availability.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks of toiletries, amenities, and cleaning supplies, reordering as necessary while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Provide support and guidance to Housekeeping Supervisors, ensuring high morale and discipline within the team, and informing the Head Housekeeper of any daily concerns.
  • Facilitate training sessions and ensure systematic training is conducted throughout the department, monitoring the performance of both trainers and trainees.
  • Collaborate with the Head Housekeeper to plan ahead for departmental needs, identifying potential issues and proposing solutions.
  • Ensure that staff schedules are created in alignment with business demands.
  • As directed by the Head Housekeeper, organize, supervise, and inspect contracted services such as carpet cleaning.
  • Confirm that all room sections are assigned to staff daily and that all Housekeeping personnel receive their work assignments.
  • Ensure that rooms, hallways, and storage areas are cleaned by Room Attendants and inspected according to established standards.
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety protocols, ensuring that staff are aware of their responsibilities and comply with these standards, remaining vigilant regarding potential risks, especially concerning security and safety threats.
  • Ensure that all procedures and manuals are consistently followed and advise the Head Housekeeper on necessary updates and revisions.
