Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is actively seeking to appoint a Senior Psychiatrist to our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Team in Winsford, Central Cheshire. This position is a replacement role, where the successful candidate will offer psychiatric expertise to the Vale Royal 0-18 CAMHS team and collaborate with the existing part-time consultant.
The appointed psychiatrist will also be involved in the Consultant Psychiatrist on-call rota.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee, evaluate, and provide professional guidance to junior medical personnel as per agreements with fellow consultants and the medical director, in line with the Trust's human resources policies.
- Perform administrative tasks related to patient care.
- Accurately document clinical activities and ensure timely submission to the Information Department.
- Engage in annual performance reviews for consultants.
- Participate in the Trust's academic programs, including lectures and seminars as part of ongoing professional development.
- Maintain professional registration with the General Medical Council and adhere to the Mental Health Act Section 12(2) approval and professional conduct standards.
- Engage in an annual review of the job plan with the clinical manager, ensuring the role evolves with service changes.
- Collaborate with local management and professional colleagues to ensure effective service delivery.

Qualifications- MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Higher degree or qualification in medical education, clinical research, or management.
- Additional clinical qualifications.
- Full registration with the GMC and a valid license to practice at the time of appointment.
- Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility within six months.
- Approved clinician status or ability to obtain within three months of appointment.
- Approval under S12 or ability to achieve within three months of appointment.
- Good standing with the GMC regarding any warnings or conditions on practice.
- Extensive knowledge in the specialty.
- Able to fulfill responsibilities under the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act.
- Exceptional clinical skills with a bio-psycho-social approach.
- Diverse experience in specialist and sub-specialist areas relevant to the role within the NHS or comparable services.
This position is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, necessitating a Disclosure submission to the Disclosure and Barring Service to verify any prior criminal convictions.
