Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a Senior Psychiatrist to our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Team in Winsford, Central Cheshire. This position is a replacement role, where the successful candidate will provide psychiatric care to the Vale Royal 0-18 CAMHS team alongside a part-time colleague.

The appointed psychiatrist will also be involved in the Consultant Psychiatrist on-call rota.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee, evaluate, and provide professional guidance to junior medical personnel as per agreements with fellow consultants and the medical director, adhering to the Trust's personnel guidelines.
  2. Carry out administrative tasks related to patient care.
  3. Accurately document clinical activities and submit reports promptly to the Information Department.
  4. Engage in annual evaluations for consultants.
  5. Participate in the Trust's academic initiatives, including lectures and seminars as part of ongoing professional development.
  6. Maintain professional registration with the General Medical Council, hold Mental Health Act Section 12(2) approval, and comply with professional ethical standards.
  7. Engage in an annual review of the job plan with the clinical manager, ensuring the role evolves in line with service changes.
  8. Collaborate with local management and professional peers to ensure the effective operation of services.

Qualifications
  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Higher degree or qualification in medical education, clinical research, or management.
  • Additional clinical certifications.
  • Full registration with the GMC and a license to practice at the time of appointment.
  • Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility within six months.
  • Approved clinician status or ability to obtain within three months of appointment.
  • Approval under S12 or ability to achieve within three months of appointment.
  • Good standing with the GMC concerning warnings and practice conditions.
Clinical Expertise, Knowledge & Experience
  • Thorough understanding of the specialty.
  • Able to fulfill responsibilities under the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act.
  • Exceptional clinical abilities utilizing a bio-psycho-social approach.
  • Diverse experience in specialized and sub-specialized areas relevant to the role within the NHS or similar services.
