About the Role

As a Senior Practice Lead at Cheshire West and Chester Council, you will play a critical role in shaping and developing practice across our organisation. You will work in partnership with the Principal Social Worker to execute key functions and have a reduced complex caseload to maintain your expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement high-quality practice initiatives that improve outcomes for children and families
  • Mentor and support newly qualified social workers to develop their skills and confidence
  • Collaborate with colleagues to review and quality assure training delivered to the social care workforce
  • Deliver training and facilitate reflective group supervision sessions to support the development of social workers
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and supportive work environment that values diversity and promotes inclusion

Requirements
  • Significant experience in a senior social work role, with a strong track record of leadership and management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and partnership working
