Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a Consultant to our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Team.

This is a replacement position. The successful candidate will deliver psychiatric care to the Vale Royal 0-18 CAMHS team and collaborate with the existing part-time consultant.

The consultant will also be involved in the on-call rota for Consultant Psychiatrists.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee, evaluate, and provide professional guidance to junior medical personnel as agreed with consultant peers and the medical director, in line with the Trust's personnel policies.
  2. Perform administrative tasks related to patient care.
  3. Accurately document clinical activities and submit reports to the Information Department in a timely manner.
  4. Engage in annual appraisals for consultants.
  5. Participate in the Trust's academic programs, including lectures and seminars as part of the internal Continuing Professional Development (CPD) initiatives.
  6. Maintain professional registration with the General Medical Council and comply with professional standards.
  7. Engage in annual job plan reviews with the clinical manager to adapt the role in response to service changes.
  8. Collaborate with local managers and colleagues to ensure effective service delivery and contribute to management decisions.

Qualifications
  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management.
  • MRCPsych
  • Additional clinical qualifications.
Eligibility Criteria
  • Fully registered with the GMC with a license to practice at the time of appointment.
  • Included on the GMC Specialist Register or within six months of eligibility.
  • Approved clinician status or able to achieve within three months of appointment.
  • Approved under S12 or able to achieve within three months of appointment.
Clinical Skills, Knowledge & Experience
  • Extensive knowledge in the specialty.
  • Able to fulfill duties under MHA and MCA.
  • Strong clinical skills utilizing a bio-psycho-social approach and broad medical knowledge.
Desirable Experience
  • Diverse specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to the role within the NHS or comparable services.
