Role Overview

The Azure Engineer is tasked with enhancing and securing our cloud architecture, ensuring optimal performance and cost-effectiveness. Utilizing your proficiency in Microsoft Azure, you will bolster system resilience, implement security best practices, and manage resources with foresight. Your responsibilities will include spearheading continuous improvement projects and overseeing strategies for cost management.

Moreover, you will ensure the smooth integration of emerging technologies, support DevOps methodologies to refine deployment processes, and maintain thorough documentation. You will also be instrumental in monitoring system performance, executing performance optimizations, and aiding in business continuity strategies.

Key Responsibilities:


• Identify and execute opportunities for automation, performance improvements, and infrastructure enhancements to adapt to changing business requirements.


• Guarantee the high availability and dependability of cloud services by formulating and upholding disaster recovery strategies, conducting regular performance evaluations, and establishing redundancy and failover systems.


• Enforce security and compliance best practices within the Azure environment, conduct routine security assessments, ensure adherence to industry regulations, and respond swiftly to security incidents.


• Monitor and evaluate cloud expenditures, propose and implement cost-reduction strategies, and effectively utilize cost management tools.


• Collaborate closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure the seamless integration and functioning of cloud services.


• Maintain detailed documentation of cloud infrastructure, enhancements, best practices, and performance metrics. Prepare regular reports on system performance, security status, and cost management.


• Provide mentorship and training to team members and other departments on Azure best practices and optimizations.


• Lead and engage in incident response efforts, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid resolution of issues.


• Participate in architectural design discussions to ensure our system capabilities align with business objectives.

Oversee the management of certificates and secrets within the Azure environment, ensuring timely rotation and compliance with security protocols. Implement automated processes for certificate and secret renewal and replacement to uphold system integrity and security.

Desired Qualifications:


• Demonstrated experience as an Azure Engineer or in a comparable role with a comprehensive understanding of Azure services, architecture, and best practices.


• Strong grasp of cloud security principles, including identity management, encryption, and compliance standards.


• Experience with Azure cost management and budgeting tools, along with the implementation of cost-saving measures.


• Proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages such as PowerShell, ARM templates, or Terraform.


• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.


• Strong interpersonal skills with the capacity to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.


• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.


• Relevant Azure certifications are highly desirable.


• A commitment to continuous learning and staying informed about the latest Azure technologies and industry trends.
